The next morning, at Mount Kinabalu, early birding yielded the Bornean Green Magpie and Whitehead’s Trogon. A descent from Timpohon Gate revealed Red-breasted Partridges and Golden-naped Barbets. At Poring Hot Springs, birding included the rare Fulvous-chested Jungle-Flycatcher.

In Sandakan, a night walk at Rainforest Discovery Centre was magical with sightings of Slow Loris and Bornean Tarsier. The Kinabatangan River offered incredible hornbill sightings and the rare Storm’s Stork. At Tabin Wildlife Reserve, notable finds included the Rufous-collared Kingfisher and Speckled Piculet. Danum Valley provided a rich array of bird and mammal species, including the legendary Bornean Bristlehead, Great Argus and Bornean Orangutans. As we've come to expect from Borneo, our journey exceeded all expectations and was nothing short of exceptional.
