The Latest from Central Asia

We are a third of the way through our central Asia tour and now heading for the vast expanses and snow-capped mountains of Kazakhstan. The birds and the weather have all performed perfectly for us so far. Rufous-naped Tit, Blyth’s Rosefinch and a stunning Lammergeier showed really well in Zammin National Park, as did the rare Rusty-tailed Flycatcher. White-throated Robin and Upcher’s Warbler were just two of many species seen in the hills near Samarkand while at Bukhara, as well as admiring the stunning ancient architecture, we caught up with such gems as Menetries’s Warbler and the fabulous Pander’s Ground Jay.
