Island Endemics and Seabirds

New Zealand is stunningly beautiful…
…and full of birds that are seriously unique…
…weirdly wonderful…
…lively…
…and quirky.
We’ll use tidy accommodation around the country, generally with a self-contained kitchenette and bathroom…
…and often in attractive settings with good birding nearby.
Our vehicles are comfortable given our small group sizes.
We’ll usually dine at cafes and restaurants…
…and grab lunch from a cafe or bakery to consume in a beautiful place…
Sometimes of course it rains…
…but good weather is typical most places…
…and whatever the weather, we try to have fun.
We’ll spend a lot of time on the water…
…looking for New Zealand’s many seabirds….
…including Black (Parkinson’s) Petrel…
…and the recently rediscovered New Zealand Storm Petrel…
…and the photographic opportunities are superb..
…oh, and yes, we shouldn’t forget the three species of penguins, the largest being the Yellow-eyed…
… or the many marine mammals including the acrobatic Dusky Dolphin.
New Zealand is a fabulous places for shorebirds…
…including the relatively common New Zealand Dotterel…
…and Black Stilt, one of the world’s rarest.
In sum, New Zealand is one of those places not to be missed.
