Pierre Defos Du Rau

Pierre has been birding since he was 15 and has been working as a professional ornithologist in Southern France for almost 20 years. He received his PHD on the ecology and population dynamics of the Red-crested Pochard, which he studied extensively in the marshes of Camargue where he now works full-time. He lives in a nice French Mediterranean small town around which he enjoys searching for Mediterranean Sylvia warblers and new organic wines. Although he enjoys birding in Asia and Africa, he very much cherishes his French way of life.
