Jonathan Slifkin has spent much of the last eight years on a continuing quest to see and photograph the birds of the world, nearing 5,500 species documented across all seven continents. He has professional experience as a researcher at Cloudbridge Nature Reserve in Costa Rica, a guide at Bellavista Lodge in Ecuador, and most recently as Resident Biologist at the Canopy Family in Panama.
He has led multiple multi-island endemics trips in the Caribbean, and has seen and photographed almost every endemic in the Micronesian region on previous trips there.
Before embarking on a series of birding careers, Jonathan spent his time studying philosophy at Harvard University, and before that growing up on the island of Manhattan.
