Austin Young

austin-young.jpg

Austin has spent most of his life joyfully birding in his home state of Idaho. Southern Idaho has been the area he’s spent the most time, but gradually has expanded his home range to include other areas of Idaho while establishing patterns of vagrancy to other areas of the Intermountain West. This ability to move around while working has been facilitated primarily by local freelance avifauna surveying positions, obtaining seasonal wildlife technician positions, locally guiding birders, and chasing geographically rare bird species. Austin spends most of the year trekking in southeast Idaho while pursuing a B.S. degree in Biology, emphasis on Ecology and Conservation Biology, at Idaho State University.
