This year's Sri Lanka tour was a resounding success. We managed to find all 35 endemics which is no mean feat. Perhaps the highlight was the stunning views we had of both male and female Sri Lanka Whistling Thrush, a species that can be famously hard to locate. In addition we saw a total of 8 owl species, including the bizarre Sri Lanka Bay Owl and the Serendib Scops Owl. The views of the ultra shy Sri Lanka Spurfowl were unbelievably good, and other highlights included a very obliging Indian Pitta, striking Pied Thrush and, although not very colourful, the Sykes's Warbler was an island rarity. On top of all this we had some wonderful accommodation and some great food.
