From Storks to Songbirds in Sweden - Falsterbo Flashback

This year’s Falsterbo in Fall tour hit several days of good migration, and encountered several unusual species in Sweden’s far southwest.

As is often the case on this tour, we enjoyed close views of White Storks…

…and even closer views of some of the birds caught for banding at Falsterbo Bird Observatory; in this case, a European Robin.

A small party of Bearded Reedlings put on a good show for the group…

Songbird migration was made up mostly of finches, such as this Brambling (with Eurasian Siskins out-of-focus in the background)…

…and pipits, such as this Meadow Pipit.
