David Sibley, author of the best selling and arguably the best North American bird field guide, lecturer, commentator and artist, probably needs no introduction. Less well known is his fascination with Spoon-billed Sandpiper. He dreamed of cruises along the Russian Far East coast in search of their breeding grounds long before there were such cruises. Having spent weeks observing and sketching Spoon-bills on their wintering grounds, he looks forward to “In the Wake of Bering” with barely contained excitement.
David lives with his wife Joan Walsh and their two sons Evan and Joel in Concord, MA.
