Kathi McIvor
Kathi McIvor has been a Tour Manager in the WINGS office since March 2004 and most recently Tour/Office Manager as of May 2011. Prior to becoming a Tour Manager, she was WINGS’ personal travel adviser for 20+ years, booking and managing travel arrangements for groups and leaders. Coming to work for WINGS was always a dream for Kathi and when the opportunity presented itself she immediately applied. Since joining the company in 2004, Kathi—who brims with information and enthusiasm—has delighted in discovering the wonders and adventures of birding. “Do what you love and love what you do!”
She and her husband Mac live on an acreage north of Tucson where they savor the beauty and wonder of rural desert life. With yard visitors such as javelinas, coyotes, bobcats, badgers, and deer, not to mention feathered friends at their feeder, life for the McIvors is always an adventure.
When Kathi’s not in the office she can be found volunteering, hiking, gardening, kayaking, camping, or just being granny to any of their 11 grandchildren. Her two favorite places to bird are Portal, AZ where she looks forward each spring to the return of Elegant Trogons, and Bosque del Apache, NM in winter.
