May 08-18, 2017: San Francisco, CA to Southeast Alaska to San Francisco, CA – This 10-day Princess cruise, which goes directly to Juneau and Skagway and then loops through Glacier Bay National Park and returns to San Francisco via Ketchikan and Victoria, BC, spends the most offshore time of any of the Alaska cruises. We’ll look for a good variety of pelagic species including Hawaiian Petrel, Murphy’s Petrel, Laysan Albatross, South Polar Skua and Kittlitz’s Murrelet among others, and hope for Cook’s Petrel and Aleutian Tern. Huge numbers of storm-petrels and alcids are likely. The scenery is stunning. A prospective bird list can be found at the link above. Shore outings will be arranged on a shared cost basis for those who wish.

This Princess cruise departs at 4 pm May 08 from San Francisco and returns at 7 am May 18 to San Francisco.  Cost is $685 plus your berth which should be booked directly with the cruise company.  Non-birders traveling with you are exempt from the $685 WINGS charge. Berth prices for this cruise start at about $1249 plus tax, gratuity, port charges and optional land expenses. Details on booking a berth can be found here.
