April 27 - May 9, 2018: Los Angeles, CA to Southeast Alaska to Los Angeles, CA – This 12-day Princess cruise, which goes from L.A. to Vancouver, then to Juneau and Skagway, then loops through Glacier Bay National Park and Ketchikan and returns non-stop to Los Angeles, spends the most offshore time of any of the Alaska cruises. We’ll look for an excellent variety of pelagic species including Hawaiian Petrel, Murphy’s Petrel, Cook’s Petrel, Laysan Albatross, and Kittlitz’s Murrelet among others. Huge numbers of storm-petrels and alcids are likely. The scenery is stunning. A prospective bird list can be found at the link above. Shore outings will be arranged at Skagway and Ketchikan on a shared cost basis for those who wish.

This Princess cruise departs at 4 pm April 27 from Los Angeles (San Pedro) and returns at 7 am on May 09 to Los Angeles.  Cost is $785 plus your berth which should be booked directly with the cruise company. This is likely to be an overall very popular cruise, so do not delay making your berth reservation with Princess.  Non-birders traveling with you are exempt from the $785 WINGS charge. Berth prices for this cruise start at about $1700 plus tax, gratuity, port charges and optional land expenses. Details on booking a berth can be found here.
