Starr Saphir
New York City’s most notable field ornithologist and urban naturalist, Starr Saphir has led birders in all parts of the U.S., in Central and South America, and in Africa. Her popular classes on bird observation skills lead to an understanding of birds, their habitats, and their connection to the rest of nature. When not in Central Park pursuing her passion for wildlife, she serves on the Council of the Linnaean Society, dedicated to the study of nature and scientific culture.
