Ann Haynes-Sutton

Ann Haynes-Sutton is a conservation ecologist and ornithologist.  She is the senior author of “A Photographic Field Guide to the Birds of Jamaica’ published by Princeton in 2009. She owns and manages of Marshall’s Pen, a private nature reserve and one of the premier birding locations in Jamaica, and leads bird tours.

Her other interests include working on protected areas management planning, eco-tourism, and conservation education (mainly in the Portland Bight Protected Area in Jamaica), and research on seabirds at the Pedro Cays, Jamaica. She did her Ph.D. at the University of the West Indies, Jamaica on conservation and management of seabirds at the Morant Cays, Jamaica.

She is Secretary of the Society for the Conservation and Study of Caribbean Birds, Co-Chair of their Seabirds and Monitoring Working Groups and a member of the Waterbird Conservation Council for the Americas.
