I’d say the auto is the Austin Swallow.

Cadillac would be the ovious answer, but tecnically on a coat of arms, I believe the birds would be merlettes. The name Cadillac apparently being of French origin would mean according to the French definition of merlette, the birds would be a “footless duckling”? In later versions the ducks morphed into swans.

If you really squint, the six stars on a Subaru emblem sort of look like swallows.

Correct, the Cadillac emblem technically does not have swallows. The true answer is AM General, manufacturer of the Hummvee,H1. GM bought the name “Hummer” from AM General and GM manufactures the H2. On the popular TV show ‘Pimp my Hummer’ six swallows were put on the grill to represent that the Hummvee ‘swallows’ 6 times the amount of gasoline as a Prius. The six swallows became so popular from the TV show that AM General decided to offer the swallow emblem in their deluxe package. If you don’t want to shell out the extra money for the deluxe package, real swallows have been known to nest in the grill of the H1.

The Subaru logo actually represents the prominent stars in the Pleiades cluster. The six stars also represent the six different companies which Subaru owns.

    Yeah… I wouldn’t have known this if I hadn’t bought a Subee a few days ago.

Cadillac. According to the following website, the logo shows the “arms de la Mothe,” and “the birds are merlettes, which are heraldic adaptations of the martin.”
